I want to share with you a very bad shopping experience I had in New York City at Multy Electronics, 1333 Broadway, between 35th and 36th street.
Here is their business card:
*** DO NOT SHOP HERE *** DO NOT SHOP HERE ***
*** DO NOT SHOP HERE *** DO NOT SHOP HERE ***
At this shop they have all the products marked at very high prices.
After you show interest for a specific product, they start making some incredible discounts. They even tell you that you can return it if you're not satisfied.
If you give in - like I did for a small projector with "HD" definition - then you have been robbed!
Once you realize that the product doesn't work as expected - no "HD" after all - you come back to the store and they say that they don't do refunds, and that you can exchange the product only for other products. The issue is, all the other prices are largely overpriced too, so you are stuck with a lousy deal.
Also they say that you can talk to the boss that will be around tomorrow, but you figure that there is no boss and it's just a delay tactic. They know most of their customers are tourists and that they won't be around for long.
There are more reports about this store (and its twins) in the following site:

It's unbelievable how the New York City officials do not close down on these stores...
Lesson learned (the hard way):
If something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
And if your wife tells you this, don't be stubborn!
